Karen Carcia is an interdisciplinary artist whose work engages with the world through practices that include and support writing and making books such as: letterpress printing, handwriting & erasure, hand-stitching,  processing & using natural inks, exploration of form & structure. Her book work has been featured in national and international exhibitions and is held at the University of Denver, the University of Utah, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, Baylor University, and Knox College, among other collections. She is the author of On Subjects of Which We Know Nothing (New Michigan Press). She teaches at a university in the U.S. Midwest.
